Are you exercising your data's full potential? If you're not using it to secure media placements, the answer is no.
Just think: You and your team worked hard to create a data report, but you haven't maximized the distribution of that knowledge. Sure, you can post it on your website, share it on your LinkedIn business page, and have employees share it with their networks, but why not use the data to capture interest from the media?

Don't let these valuable insights slip through the cracks. Use them strategically to get more visibility from your target audience through media and industry news. Not sure how to start?
Let's Strategize!
Whether your company has created a data report or produced a single piece of data, if it's interesting to your target audience, it could interest journalists and reporters writing about your industry.
Here are my outreach strategy suggestions to turn your data into a story journalists can’t ignore. ⬇️
Full Report Approach
If your data report offers a broad perspective, share the full report with key takeaways highlighted. Include a press release summarizing the most newsworthy insights, making it easy for journalists to see the value.
Targeted Insights Approach
Break down the report into smaller, focused pieces. Relate each data point to a specific trend or issue currently making headlines in your industry.
For example, if your data highlights a rise in remote work adoption, tie it to stories about workplace flexibility or tech-enabling remote teams.
Exclusive Previews
Offer exclusive access to parts of your data report to a journalist or media outlet. This gives them a scoop and incentivizes coverage.
Remember, when one journalist has the exclusive, you cannot share it with other reporters. If you do, you risk your relationship with the journalist (more on that in a future newsletter).
Using these strategies, you can turn raw data into a media buzz generator.
